Coronation Party, 7 May 2023

😎 The weather was exceptionally kind to us on Sunday, for which we are all eternally grateful! We had fun and raised a lot of money to share between Wakefield Hospice and Yorkshire Air Ambulance… £1,146.38

😊 But of course these events take lots of planning and organising, so in time honoured tradition we would like to take the opportunity to recognise and thank a number of people, local organisations and small business’s whom helped to make the afternoon such a success!

πŸ™ Firstly ‘thank you’, to everyone one of you who came along, had fun, enjoyed the entertainment, took part in our traditional games and supported this community event.

😊 Thanks to Parish Councillors and our army of volunteers for pulling everything together… and taking it down again!

πŸŽ€Thanks to our Compère for the afternoon, W4W Chair, Mark Blount… what a wonderful job… you did us proud!

Thank you to our unstinting Marshals, Dek Butler & Andy Gardner… and supporting Parish Councillors and volunteers for ensuring the day ran smoothly.

🎡🩰Our talented local entertainers who volunteered their time, Walton Choir, Wakelele, Miss Amy and Studio A Dance Troupe.

😊 Thank you to Walton Community Library, Walton Guides and Brownies, and Talk Laugh Craft, craft club.

🍻πŸ₯‚Thank you to our volunteer bar staff… you were kept v busy and thank you Lindsey for donating much needed bottled water for a warm day.

πŸ’ Our raffle raised a little over £400, thank you to: The Park Grill, Walton, Julie Chalkley of Lavender House Retreat and WH Kitchen at the Grove for generously donating raffle prizes .

πŸŽ€ Festival Hair by Mel Tudor and her team from En route Hair and Beauty was a firm favourite… lots of plaits, buns and glitter on parade. Thanks to Mel for donating a little over £200 to our fundraiser.

We were delighted to support the small business’s who came along and sold their quality products.

🍦Lumb’s Ice cream

πŸ” Brackenwood Catering Co

🧁 Violet Boo Bakery for delighting us with their homemade cakes… sold out by 2.30!

β˜•οΈ Cafe Baa, such a lovely original idea for a cafe.

🍫 ‘Chocolate Dave’, for his generous donation.

😊 Ellie’s Face Painting Designs.

Thanks to St John Ambulance for keeping us safe.

Thank you to our volunteer litter pickers who helped to tidy up our green space throughout the day.

🎸….and finally, we hope you enjoyed Underdrive Jonny, for entertaining us and drawing the event to a close

Here are a few photos to remind us of the day.
