The Police & Walton

For many years now, the Parish Council in Walton has paid for extra police support in the village under an intitiative called The Safe Scheme.

This supplements the normal neighbourhood policing arrangements in order to ensure that we live in an environment that is as peaceful and as free from crime as possible. We are fortunate to have a dedicated police team, keen to address any problems raised by the Parish Council on behalf of village residents as well as responsive to the concerns of individual residents.

A representative of West Yorkshire Police attends each monthly Parish Council meeting (except August) to report on crime in our village and steps taken to deal with this.

To view traffic reports produced by WMDC Highways following a survey undertaken in January 2021 at 3 locations within the village, please select Greenside, Oakenshaw Lane, or Shay Lane.
